From the VII Agency Newsletter:
“VII Agency has a long history in Myanmar. A number of the agency’s members have worked there for decades and, more recently, have become instructors and mentors with the VII Academy to a new generation of Myanmar photographers.
As those Myanmar photographers face up to the terrifying new challenges forced upon them by their own military, VII Agency and The VII Foundation fully support the formation of the new agency, Sacca, owned and controlled by Myanmar photographers in its goal of raising international recognition of the atrocities being committed in Myanmar.
To show that support VII Agency has been advising and consulting with Sacca, and The VII Foundation is pledging a series of micro-grants to Sacca’s members to allow them to continue their essential work and tell the truth of what is happening in their country.”
Sacca is eternally grateful to the VII Foundation and also to the Frontline Club who have made a similar pledge of support for our ongoing work supporting photojournalism in Myanmar.
